What to Expect When You Book With Ridetheory
Choose a lesson that matches your current riding experience and the skills you’d like to develop. Our program descriptions outline the recommended ability level, terrain, and focus, making it easy to find the right fit. Along with that, our small group sizes make for a personalized experience.
Once you’re booked, you’ll receive all the details you need before your session, including where to meet and what to bring. Your coach will start with a quick conversation about your goals before selecting trails and features that support your progression. Every session is built around quality riding time, personalized feedback, and practical skills you can apply on every ride. You’ll finish with more confidence, better technique, and local recommendations for where to ride next in Fernie.
Where do Ridetheory lessons meet in Fernie?
Your confirmation email will include your meeting location. Depending on your lesson and riding goals, we may meet at the Fernie Aquatic Centre and Dirt Jump Park, Montane Trailhead, or another trail network that best suits the session.
Which lesson should I book?

What should I bring?
Bring:
- A well-maintained mountain bike. Full suspension is preferred but hardtails are welcome
- Helmet
- Water and snacks
- Weather-appropriate clothing. We’re the in Rockies and the weather can change on a dime
- Any protective gear you normally ride with. We recommend knee pads at a minimum.
- Flat pedals or clipless pedals are both welcome though we find it is often easier to practice skills with flats.
What happens if the weather changes?
Fernie’s mountain weather can change quickly. If conditions are unsafe due to heavy rain, thunderstorms, or trail closures, we’ll contact you to reschedule your lesson or discuss other options.
