Women’s Only Courses

We understand the camaraderie that is only present when you’re amongst a group of other women in a traditionally male-dominated sport. That welcomed sense of lightness that comes without the pressure (even if unintentional) from male counterparts. And the lack of judgment when you’re goofing off, trying new things and taking the babiest of steps. These programs are made with you in mind.

Throughout the summer, we’ll be holding Women’s and Gender Noncomforming Only sessions. They’ll offer the exact same quality of coaching and instruction as all our other programs, with one addition – that spirit aforementioned. We’ve found that progression is sometimes accelerated in these environments and want to nurture that development.

    What to Bring

    • Helmet: Full face optional for dirt jumps
    • Knee pads: recommended for beginners, mandatory for intermediate and up
    • Elbow pads: recommended
    • Gloves: recommended
    • Bike: in good working order
    • Repair Kit: Spare tube, pump, patches, and tools
    • Hydration: 1-2L in bottles or a hydration pack
    • Snacks
    • Sunscreen: Please apply beforehand an send your kids with spare suncreen in full day programs
    • Weather-appropriate clothing

    Our coaches will carry repair kits and first aid supplies for added support.

    2026 Programs

    To participate in our Fernie or Kimberley programs (not incl. maintenance clinics), you must have a Fernie Trails Alliance or Kimberley Trails Society pass.

    • 4 Week Introduction to Mountain Biking Course.
      • May 14 – June 4. Thursdays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm
      • July 6 – 27. Mondays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm
    • 4 Week Strong Beginner Course.
      • May 12 – June 2. Tuesdays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm
      • July 14 – August 4. Tuesdays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm
    • 4 week Beyond Intermediate Course.
      • May 13 – June 3. Wednesdays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm
      • July 15 – August 5. Wednesdays from 6:15 – 8:15 pm

    Skills Clinics

    • Intermediate Cornering. May 16 from 9 am – 12 pm
    • Drops and Jump. May 30 from 9 am – 12 pm
    • Technical Climbing and Descending. September 5 from 9 am – 12 pm
